Andrew serves as a Fund Manager and Research Analyst at Sanlam Investment Management (SIM), where his primary focus lies in analyzing the global resources sector. Apart from his role in co-managing the Sanlam Gold and Resource Fund alongside Derick Deale and Siphelele Mhlongo, Andrew is also the manager of the Sanlam Resources Fund based in South Africa and shares the responsibility of managing the Sanlam Aggressive Fund.
Before joining SIM in October 2017, Andrew accumulated over eighteen years of experience as an equity research analyst on the 'Sell-side.' He held significant tenures at UBS (13 years), Bank of America Merrill Lynch (3 years), and Investec Securities (just over 2 years). Andrew's academic background includes a BSc in Metallurgical Engineering, and he possesses five years of hands-on experience in the field. His contributions on the sell-side earned him recognition in surveys conducted by Extel, Institutional Investor, and Financial Mail, along with accolades for his accuracy in forecasting earnings and stock recommendations.
