Based in our Bristol office; we are currently looking for a Software Developer to join our Development team on a permanent basis.
 
The role
 
As part of our Development Team you will be responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of our existing in-house back and middle office systems from a Software Development perspective.
 
This will include making any code changes required by third parties, making and documenting amendments/enhancements to code and logic as required, maintenance of scheduled jobs, troubleshooting and responding to user queries.
 
We are looking for someone who has experience of the full development lifecycle including investigating issues, scoping out a resolution, writing the code, QA and roll out.
 
Going forward you will also likely be involved in the redevelopment of Sanlam’s systems to support a replatforming project.
 
Skills and experience
 
The successful candidate may demonstrate the following:
 
Essential:

  • SQL Server Development (including stored logic and procedures)

  • SQL Server DBA skills

  • Microsoft VB.NET and C#.NET desktop development

  • Oracle SQL / PLSQL

  • Software change management / version control systems

  • Experience of investment management in retail financial services

Useful but not essential:

  • Experience of MIS / data warehouse development

  • Crystal Reports

  • ETL tools experience

  • Any experience of Delphi development

  • Any prior experience of the XPLAN platform, Iress Pulse/Symphony

  • Any prior experience of data migration

  • Any prior experience of Oracle Forms/Reports development

  • Financial services experience, preferably investment management processes

  • Experience of  FCA compliance reporting would be beneficial
