Based in our Bristol office; we are currently looking for a Portfolio Assistant to join our Private Wealth team on a permanent basis.
 
The role
 
To provide administrative support to the Portfolio Management team and assist in the management of private client and referrer/adviser relationships and their investment portfolios.

  • Provide high quality support to the Portfolio Management team, such as payment administration, setting up new accounts, updating databases, sending out client documentation, preparing/implementing mailshots and maintaining accuracy of client data on internal databases, producing and dispatch of valuations and client packs.

  • Deal with compliance related matters such as collation and checking client documentation.

  • Liaise with operational departments to ensure that data errors, transactional delays and any other operational problems are dealt with.  Act as liaison point for IT, Compliance and other support departments, ensuring that problems experienced by team members are addressed, fixed and any improvements suggested.

  • Support Portfolio Managers, taking notes of portfolio changes and preparing investment review letters, create Symphony deals and arrange bulk trades for clients, ensure portfolios are loaded and set up correctly on Pulse.

  • Respond to ‘ad-hoc’ client queries, developing client relationships ensuring all required tasks are completed in the absence of senior management.

  • Prepare investment proposals on behalf of the portfolio managers, and complete relevant paperwork.

Skills and experience
 
The successful candidate may demonstrate the following:

  • Educated to A Level standard.

  • Preferably minimum of 2 years’ experience in a role requiring similar levels of attention to detail, numeracy and literacy e.g. banking/finance.

  • Diligent and able to follow policy and process effectively.

  • Discreet and confidential approach.

  • Good written and verbal skills.

  • Excellent telephone manner.

  • Patient, friendly and helpful disposition.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Prioritises and manages time effectively.

  • Planning & organisation – able to use process in making plans and carry out tasks effectively.

  • Work effectively on multiple projects with different project team members and under the direction of project leaders.
