Kokkie lectured accounting at the University of Cape Town and then headed up internal audit at a listed retailer before joining a bank as a turnaround specialist. From there he spent 15 years at Old Mutual and Coronation as a financials specialist. Kookie then moved to Sanlam to start SIM Global, which later merged with SIM Unconstrained Capital Partners to form Denker Capital. Kokkie has received the prestigious UK-based Investment Week’s Fund Manager of the Year award four times (2010-2013) in the financials category. Kokkie is a qualified CA(SA) and holds a B.Comm. Honours degree from the universities of Stellenbosch and Cape Town.
