Based in our Bristol office; we are currently looking for an IFRS 17 Project Accountant to join our Finance team on a 6 month fixed term basis.
The role
The Project Accountant will be the key representative and resource for Finance on the IFRS 17 project, and will provide support to the Financial Controller. You will be charged with building processes in order to facilitate IFRS 17 requirements using Excel to automate complex reporting processes.
The role will also assist with preparation of asset data templates for Solvency II reporting. You will also be on hand to make decisions, progress reporting and assist junior team members in the Financial Controller’s absence. 
Key to this role will be your excellent attention to detail and ability to work autonomously whilst also building strong relationships with the Actuarial team and our team in South Africa to ensure that work is produced and completed in a timely and highly accurate manner.

Skills and experience
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA and also may demonstrate the following:

  • Experience and knowledge of the technical requirements of IFRS 17

  • Financial Services experience, ideally within an insurance provider environment

  • Experience of similar project implementations

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work with a high level of accuracy

  • Extremely proficient in Excel
