Background
 
Based in our Bristol or London Office; we are currently looking for a Process Risk & Controls Manager on a Fixed Term basis to support our Group Risk function.
 
The Role
 
Our team provide support and guidance across the Organisation to increase and maintain risk awareness. Utilising a Risk Management Framework, the team ensure that all risks are identified, assessed and successfully mitigated.
 
The role requires an experienced Manager with demonstrable experience in Process, Risk and Control design to create a suite of risk registers in alignment with the overarching Sanlam UK ERM framework.
 
You will help the business identify and capture its key end-to-end processes, identify the key material risks associated with each step of the process and understand its critical controls and ensure that they are well designed and operate effectively.
 
This will require significant engagement across the business working closely with a wide range of stakeholders including subject matter experts and senior management in order to complete this project and meet the required milestones.
 
Key to this role will be your excellent communication skills and ability to influence at senior management level as well as possessing the business acumen and understanding the full risk and controls landscape. Travel Requirements
 
This position will require regular travel between key Sanlam offices in London, Bristol and Sevenoaks.
 
 
Skills and Experience
 
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate the following:
 

  • Extensive experience working in Risk or Internal Audit functions within Financial Services (preferably Wealth Management/Investment Management)

  • A good understanding of Enterprise Risk Management

  • Experience of risk and control identification, testing and assurance

  • Experience of assessing risks within a wide range of operations with proven ability to suggest pragmatic risk mitigation activities

  • Reasonable understanding of CASS requirements would be advantageous

  • Possess strong influencing skills to engage effectively with others and an ability to build and maintain relationships

  • Ability to work collaboratively across boundaries at all levels

  • Ability to balance priorities and manage multiple tasks/deadlines simultaneously

  • Excellent attention to detail with a drive to deliver quality outputs

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • A strong team player, good at working with others with the ability to be self-sufficient

  • Willingness to travel across sites when required

  • Risk or associated qualifications desirable
