Based in our offices in London we’re looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to support the retention and acquisition of private client business and build the Sanlam brand and service proposition among this audience, on a permanent basis.
The role
The key function of your role is to lead the development and evaluation of an integrated marketing and communications plan targeted at private clients, programme of activity that meets the objectives and business requirements of the private client channel.
You will lead on the creation of all marketing copy, content and communications that are targeted at private clients, content to meet the needs, interests and requirements of all the audiences within the ‘private client’ umbrella (traditional, business owners, HNW, professionals etc).
You will also be expected to take ownership of the regulatory aspects associated with marketing materials within Sanlam to ensure that all our materials are commercially focussed and fit for purpose.
Additionally you will be expected to:

  • Working with our PR agency, proactively manage press and media opportunities related to our funds and fund managers

  • Manage a forward-looking content plan, ensuring its associated syndication via presentations, social media, interviews etc

  • Support the consistent execution and on-going development of the Sanlam brand

This position will give you great exposure to a wide variety of marketing requirements, a wide range of senior stakeholders and would be a great opportunity for an experienced marketing professional who has extensive presentation writing experience from within an asset management environment who is looking for a very interesting and diverse role.
Skills and experience
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate the following:

  • Educated to degree level, preferably  with a CIM or equivalent qualification

  • Have at least five years experience working in marketing for a financial or professional services firm, ideally in a similar or private client-related role

  • Strong experience of data management and using data for lead generation

  • Experience of budget management and bringing activity in to time, cost and quality

  • Good knowledge of  the financial services industry and knowledge of the wealth/investment management sector

  • Ability to manage a number of agency relationships simultaneously

  • Highly professional with the confidence to work independently and engage directly with members of the Board/senior stakeholders, clients and other business contacts

  • Excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation with an eye for detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Exceptional organisation skills

  • Ability to work as part of a small team
