Based in our Bristol office, with regular travel to London; we are currently looking for a Financial Controller to join our Private Wealth team on a perm/FTC basis.
 
The role
 
As Financial Controller for Sanlam Private Wealth (our Wealth Management division), you will manage a team of 3 and will have oversight of cost expenditure and control, reconciliations and all financial reporting for the businesses including statutory and management reporting; regulatory reporting and well as other Group reporting requirements.
 
You will have overall responsibility for budgeting and forecasting; cash flow forecasting; business performance analysis; accounting policies and valuations as well as capital structure and efficiency.
 
You will be expected to prepare Board and Management Meeting papers and attend meetings if required as well as develop and implement control processes, coordinating with internal and external audit and risk management functions as required.
 
You will work closely with the Sanlam UK Head of Finance and the wider finance team in relation to strategic planning and management, including the co-ordination and development of the department’s annual business plan and budget, as well as corporate finance and business development, including analysis of structural growth and other opportunities in line with the approved strategy.
 
Skills and experience
 
The successful candidate may demonstrate the following:
 

  • Strong experience of financial accounting and related skills

  • Strong knowledge of Wealth Management business and processes

  • Detailed knowledge of FRS and IFRS

  • ACA or equivalent qualified with solid post qualification experience

  • Relevant product and/or technical skills and industry awareness

  • Direct and recent experience of managing and developing a team

  • Experience of participating in Strategic planning

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ideally educated to degree level or above
