Sanlam UK is a leading provider of wealth and investment management services to private clients, professional advisers, charities, corporates and institutions. Combined, we manage almost £9 billion of client assets from 13 offices across the UK, employing a diverse range of c.500 professionals.
We are part of Sanlam, the global AA-rated financial services group that was established in 1918. The Group provides a range of financial products and services to over 10 million clients globally and is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. We have attained our size, strength and reputation by providing a high quality, personalised service to clients, whatever their stage of life or financial ambitions.
Based in our offices in Bristol; we’re creating a team of 3 Desk Based Wealth Advisers to build and deliver a new Desk Based Advice service to existing and new clients of Sanlam Wealth.
The role
Complementing a suite of investment and financial planning services already offered by Sanlam, your role will be to engage and manage clients through the financial planning process - ultimately helping them realise their financial goals and objectives. This will be achieved through delivery of the finest client experience where the client is always at the centre of the process.
You will be expected to maximise our existing client banks to ensure our customers are fully supported and acquire new customers through referrals and enquiries that get passed through the business.
This would be a great role for an experienced desk based adviser to expand on their existing skills and help shape this new team.  Equally, the role could provide an opportunity for a suitably qualified Paraplanner to move in to an advice position.
We would also consider experienced field based financial advisers who are looking to take a desk based role and will also consider individuals with experience of mortgage /protection advice who wish to move into a full financial planning role.
Skills and experience
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate the following:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (essential) – Ideally working towards Chartered status.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Extensive knowledge of financial services industry/products/services to ensure a professional and competent delivery of appropriate advice.
  • Excellent knowledge of Pensions and Investment products
  • Desire to build a client bank and fee income
