Actuarial Analyst

Based in our offices in Bristol; we are currently looking for an Actuarial Analyst to support a wide range of actuarial requirements, projects and initiatives.
 
The role
 
Reporting directly to our Actuarial Manager; your role will be to support and manage a variety of tasks that the Actuarial Department facilitates; with a particular focus on the regular valuations of our unit linked and conventional life products.
 
The role holder will have a great opportunity to take an active role in re-shaping our approach and will be encouraged to form innovative ideas (and see those suggestions through to implementation) to improve the ways in which we work particularly with regard to models and processes.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity (with great exposure within the business) for a part-qualified actuary who has the ability and desire to really make a difference.   
 
Skills and experience
 
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate the following:

  • “A” Level Mathematics
  • Educated to Degree level with an aligned subject (i.e Maths / Finance)
  • Actuarial experience within a life insurance environment
  • Part way through Institute and Faculty of Actuaries exams
  • Excellent Excel, Word and Access skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact with other teams including internal and external advisers


Candidates with experience of the following would be of particular interest:

  • Experience of Prophet, Visual Basic or SQL would be useful but not essential
  • Understanding of statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including Solvency II.
