Sanlam in the UK

2014

Sanlam purchases FOUR Capital Partners and brings it together with Sanlam International Investments to form Sanlam FOUR which seek to deliver innovative and market leading investment solutions to both retail and institutional clients.

2014

As part of the overall rebranding process, English Mutual and Sanlam Private Wealth come together to form Sanlam Wealth Planning, the financial advisory arm of Sanlam in the UK.

2014

All Sanlam UK businesses (Sanlam UK, Sanlam Investments and Pensions, Sanlam Distribution, Sanlam Private Wealth and English Mutual) rebrand and trade as Sanlam. The new brand style reflects Sanlam’s proven Wealth expertise, diverse offering and strong investment credentials.

2012

Sanlam further expands its wealth planning business with the acquisition of English Mutual, a financial advisory firm located predominately in the Midlands, London and the South East.

2011

Buckles Investment Services rebrands to Sanlam Private Wealth and becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Sanlam.

2010

Sanlam launches Sanlam Distribution, a team consisting of business development managers, building and maintaining relationships with intermediaries, networks, and independent financial advisers.

2009

Sanlam initialises formal business relationship with investment management company FOUR Capital Partners

2008

Sanlam begins the development of its UK wealth planning business with the purchase of a majority stake in Buckles Investment Services, a firm of financial advisers predominately based in Wales and the North West.

2008

Sanlam invests in the Nucleus Financial Group, an IFA-controlled wrap platform offering a general investment account, onshore and offshore bonds, SIPPs and ISAs to the retail customers of independent financial advisers.

2008

Sanlam UK is formed with Chief Executive Lukas Van Der Walt appointed to oversee the group’s growing portfolio of financial service businesses in the United Kingdom.

2004

Sanlam expand into the UK in 2004 with the acquisition of Merchant Investors Assurance Company Ltd, a predominantly unit linked life and pension business. Merchant Investors was rebranded in 2011, creating Sanlam Investments and Pensions
